Sara Franklin
Sara Franklin is an artist and designer tucked away in the mountains of sunny Southern California. She loves creating maps, designing products, and painting abstract art. She creates immersive visual journeys through simplified shapes and playful color palettes. Inspired by her inner child, she seeks to capture the spirit of adventure in her work. Her maps define the essence of each state through creative cartography remixed through the joy of watercolor.
“When Better Homes & Gardens hired me as their travel column illustrator, I began my 50 states project. My Watercolor maps and florals are intended to empower joy through art and design.” Allport publishes these designs as cards and boxed notes, as well as tea towels. Regional creations, such as these, with their lush hues and charming depictions, attract a variety of customers. Wonderful souvenirs, as well as essential hostess gifts, her tea towels and boxed notes resonate with locals AND visitors alike. Her collections have enormous consumer appeal.
Sara honed her knowledge of what retailers want by exhibiting at NSS (the National Stationery Show). “It’s my passion to create art for products people will love,” she states.
